Social Entrepreneurship Program （9-12）
According to the World Economic Forum, by 2030 there will be a huge demand for higher cognitive skills such as creativity, critical thinking, and decision making. In a world marked by uncertainty and volatility, today’s leader needs to be responsive and responsible. The role of the school is to prepare students by bringing them closer to the real world and opening their minds to their own potential.
At Daystar Academy, we believe that our Social Entrepreneurship curriculum broadens not only the students’ minds but also their opportunities. This unique program helps students learn more about the causes they are passionate about, and how they can make a positive difference to society. They learn about social enterprise and businesses that apply commercial strategies to improve social well-being and profits. They develop, operate, or intern for a community-based business that implements innovative solutions to social, cultural, or environmental issues. Students build the skills necessary to take on issues of social responsibility and environmental sustainability, and the know-how to develop products and services that can alleviate social problems. Students are empowered to create their economic successes and prepare for today's business challenges.
Students have access to informative and hands-on workshops that focus on realistic applications in areas such as Design Thinking; Global Citizenship; Finance; Change Leadership; Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship; Green Economy; Communication; and Business Planning. They also learn to recognize the economic, social, political and cultural variables that impact new business ventures.
Students are also guided by experienced professionals and mentors. They will gain some understanding of themselves as global citizens and learn about the entrepreneurial and business skills needed to affect change and make a positive impact.
