We have high expectations for our students. As they enter their final two years (grades 11-12) at Daystar Academy, our goal is to help our students master their bilingual skills and critical thinking, while empowering them to be changemakers.
Daystar Academy is an IB DP (Diploma Program) candidate school, with authorization expected by Spring 2021. The skills and understanding developed through the MYP's personal project leads into the IB Diploma Programme (DP) extended essay – a significant piece of independent work that promotes the high-level research and writing skills expected at university. In addition to the rigorous academic curriculum, all IBDP students must complete their CAS (Creativity, Activity, and Service) program.
Secondary school students tackle greater challenges in keeping with Daystar's inquiry-based approach to learning. Students think critically to unwind stereotypes, absorb and evaluate content, and explore their own potential to innovate. Daystar's Secondary School Program helps students consolidate the lessons of elementary school and develop their knowledge in preparation for university with bilingual mastery, powerful critical thinking, and a strong ethical foundation.
