College & Career Counselling Program

At Daystar Academy, we aspire for our students to gain entry into the world’s top universities. Beginning in grade eight, our highly qualified and experienced college counselor introduces students to our unique university and careers counseling program. Using insights from students’ personal learner profiles, our college counselor supports grade 8 students in understanding themselves and their academic and non-academic interests before shifting focus to university and career research in grade 9. Support is increased in grades 10 and 11 as students move closer to submitting their college applications in grade 12. Therein, students are guided in understanding popular university systems throughout the world, in the creation of personal essays and resumes, and through the application process.

We aim for Daystar Academy’s college and career counseling program to ensure students are able to attend global top 20 universities should they aspire to. By building a philosophy of self-confidence and self-awareness that starts early, our program ensures students are in a position to realize well-informed dreams and leave Daystar Academy university ready.

Standardized testing is a key priority for students to achieve competitive scores and support is provided both within the curriculum and as part of our after-school activities program.  We work closely with families on this journey to ensure parents and students are updated with the most recent information and support for college entrance and preparation, visa requirements and so forth. Support does not end at the application stage; Daystar Academy supports students and parents with transition activities to help ensure a smooth start to life abroad. We aim for Daystar Academy students to make a big impact at their future destinations and not simply survive but rather thrive at the world's top universities.
